What is eatsy?
So what is all the fuss about eatsy?
Basically eatsy replaces the paper takeaway menu and your telephone and lets you place an accurate order to your favourite takeaway. We simply provide the communication path and act as the messenger between you and the restaurant.
Launched in 2010, Eatsy are a team of local people working with your local businesses to build a community of restaurants that will strive for continual improvement and supporting their customers with the latest technology.
We are adding new restaurant partnerships everyday and are building a fantastic community of people while having fun meeting and working with local restaurant owners. Our target is to get all takeaways in Bristol online, creating a great community and aiming to make Bristol the first online city in the UK.
This means you no longer need to keep the paper trail of menus. Eatsy will give you the biggest choice of takeaways in the UK in the palm of your hand.
We are making ordering food eatsy and all this for free.
Why do I need to sign up?
Eatsy is a completely free service and we want to keep it this way but to do that we need your support.
Like any other community such as facebook & twitter the information and services provided by the community are exclusive to our members. So we need your details to give you access and the ability to take advantage of the services. It also ensures that all of our customers and orders are legitimate.
Tell your friends
Remember as we are a community we encourage you to tell your friends to join and use eatsy. The more people who use the site the better it will get. So tell everyone about it, use your social sites to spread the word. Be part of the eatsy revolution.
How are orders placed?
We work with the restaurants to find the best way for them to receive your orders. This means that each restaurant may receive the order in a different way.
What this means is that some of the restaurants we list are still taking orders via the telephone (although we are working with them to move them to online) In these circumastances you will see the number to call once you start creating your order from their menu.
Most restaurants opt for the direct online orders and therefore you simply create your order and click submit to send the order direct to the restaurant.
How do I actually place an order?
• Enter your postcode (eg BS3) in the search box on the front page and click the search button
• The restaurants in that area will appear below the search bar showing if they are available or not
• Click on the restaurant of your choice
• If you are not logged in you will be redirected to the registration page. If you have not registered then now is the time to register else click the sign in button at the top and sign in.
• Once signed in you will be redirected to the restaurant menu page. Here you can see all the dishes the restautant offers
• Select the items you want by clicking the ‘+” button against each item
• If you want more than one of that item then simply keep pressing the ‘+’
• You will see the items appear in your shopping basket
• Once you have all the items you want, simply click the button at the bottom of your basket
• You will then be asked to select delivery or collection and set a time.
Delivery: To sit back and have your food delivered by the restaurant
Collection: To collect your food from the restaurant
• On this page you can also give any special requirements
• Click confirm and you are done, your order is on its way to the kitchen
What happens after I submit my order?
When you submit your order it is sent directly to the restaurant to start being prepared.
We will send you an email to say your order is on its way to the restaurant and as soon as they receive your order a confirmation message will be sent to you either by email or phone. This simply confirms that your order has been received and is being prepared.
How do I know the restaurant has received my order?
As soon as your order is accepted by the restaurant you will receive an email confirmation or a ring back from the restaurant.
How do I Pay?
Because we know how crucial cash flow is to local businesses we don’t get involved in the payment. You simply pay the restaurant in the same way that you do today. So you pay the delivery agent or you pay when you collect your order. We keep payment simple and do not handle your money.
What do I do if I don’t receive confirmation?
Confirmation should arrive within a few minutes but occasionally this may take a little longer to arrive. If you have not had confirmation after five minutes, you should check the following:
- Confirm you are receiving incoming email
- Check your junk email folders
- If you still have no confirmation then it is best to contact the restaurant directly you can find the number on the restaurant’s details
- If that all fails you can email us: firstname.lastname@example.org
Can I cancel an order?
You can cancel any order that has not yet been accepted by the restaurant or that they have not startede preparing your food. For cancellations or making changes to your order please contact the restaurant directly by telephone.
My food is late or the quality wasn't what I was expecting
We are not involved in the production of the food. We only provide the communication link from you to the restaurant. Therefore if your food is ever late or not of the expected quality standard then the best approach is to take it up with the restaurant as they want to ensure you are satisfied.
The restaurants we list pride themselves in their customers and are therefore usually open to offering some sort of compensation or resolving any issues
What do I do if there is a problem with my food when it arrives?
Food should match your order if there appears to be a problem please do the following:
• Check your order information/receipt against the food items
• Contact the restaurant direct if you there are any problems

Providing your order number and some info around your complaint. One of the eatsy team will then be in touch within 24hours.
I can’t find any restaurants in my area
Eatsy has just launched although we are spreading quickly across the Bristol area. We are committed to getting every takeaway in Bristol online but we appreciate everyone’s support and patience while we get everyone online.
If we are not yet covering your area or your favourite takeaway is missing then please let us know so we can get them on as soon as possible for you.

Our restaurants are completely in control and whenever they offer deals you will see them appear instantaneously on the eatsy site. In fact a lot of their offers are now exclusive to eatsy so watch out for some great deals.
